Skate Lessons

Welcome!

The Boucher Community Ice Rink is pleased to offer private, semi-private, and group skating lessons for the 2023-2024 season.

Private and semi-private lessons (available during open skate time)

Private lessons (1 student) are available during public skate times and should be arranged directly with your preferred instructor (contact information below).

Semi-private lessons (up to 3 students) are available from 12 – 3 pm, Tuesday – Friday, and should also be arranged directly with your preferred instructor.

Group lessons (available before the rink opens to the public for the day)

Group lessons for two levels of beginning skaters will be available at the times listed below; the rink will be closed to other skaters during this time. The levels are “beginner 1” – a skater who is a true beginner who may be taking his or her first lesson, or who needs support to move across the ice; and a “beginner 2” – a skater who can move across the ice without help.

All lessons will focus on skating fundamentals, including rink/ice safety, starting and stopping, getting up, changing directions, and other skills.

Group lesson enrollment

To sign up for group lessons, please click here and then complete your payment on the “Group lesson payment” page. Payment for the full series is due at the time of enrollment. We will require four skaters per group to run a class; if your desired class is not offered due to insufficient enrollment, we will contact you to switch classes or process a refund.

When registering for group lessons, please indicate whether your skater is a “beginner 1” or “beginner 2” so that we can group similar skaters.

We will close enrollment for group lessons on December 1.

Lesson policies

Please note that all skaters must wear helmets for the duration of any lessons. Neither the instructors nor the rink staff are permitted to assist skaters in putting on helmets and/or skates. Parents of preschool skaters will need to remain onsite for the duration of any lesson.

Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
